“The Essence of Being course was, for me, a fantastic place to meet people around the world who are eager to learn more about ourselves and our energetic impact on others and the world around us. The course was not a sit-and-listen-to-Darren-talk-for-2-hours series of sessions. “I could not enroll fast enough when Darren King announced the first session of his Expanding Awareness course. Having devoured his podcast for almost as long as he has been talking to the public and thoroughly enjoying the thoughtfully meandering path that he has shared with all who care to listen, the possibilities of what a class that he would lead could be like had my imagination racing. Were we going to learn about these meditation protocols that have been mentioned? Would we get a peek behind the curtain and perceive a glimmer of something more specific about what Disclosure could look like? Would he say “discombobulated”?

I won’t spoil any of those answers. I will say that I went into this looking forward to 12 sessions of lectures with a little back-and-forth with the class. I have come out the other end with a richer sense of the diversity of people’s experiences. This was possible not only because of the warm, encouraging environment that has been fostered by Darren’s inviting approach when it comes to people opening up but also because the whole class felt like a group of people who genuinely wanted to hear from anyone who would speak up. This is not to say that this is a class about strange experiences. It is a class about how to relate to people in a world where strange experiences are not ignored or ridiculed.

Without flying my freak flag too high, it feels like there is a drum beating of late. Something is coming. What shape that will take and when it will happen and what concrete steps should be taken to prepare are perhaps good questions to ask. But those are all subject to change depending on the situation. This class feels like it is laying the groundwork for something more basic, more fundamental- what will we be like as a society when things change? How will we be there for each other? I can truly say that I am better prepared to answer that question now than I was a few months ago.

My time partaking in the Expanding Awareness course was exactly what I was hoping it would be. As someone who has experienced various phenomena over the course of a lifetime, I felt relieved to connect with a community of people pulled to ask the same big questions regarding the nature of reality and consciousness that (I believe) are paramount to providing meaning and understanding to the human experience. Under Darren’s instruction I found I was able to go deeper into topics that directly impact the way I perceive who I am in the world and how I interact with unseen forces at large. Additionally, I gained a deeper insight into the energetic shifts that are occurring live time and how we can learn to fine tune our responses to some pretty big changes on the horizon. Just as you might suspect from his podcasts, Darren is a natural teacher and guide. For anyone who is on the fence I encourage you to go for it! Diamond in the rough!

This course is an absolutely incredible value. Darren is a gifted teacher who makes the topics outlined in the course very approachable, and he was respectful of everyone’s varying viewpoints throughout. That alone is a feat in itself, and you can tell he has put a lot of time and effort into this work. I got a sense that he truly cares about what he is doing, the people that are part of the group, and the well-being of ‘others’ – generally speaking. Darren also has a great depth of knowledge, an excellent ability to communicate, and was able to field any type of (sometimes difficult to answer) questions. I have been a long-time podcast listener and I wasn’t expecting anything different going into this course. However, I was happy to confirm the phrase ‘don’t meet your heroes’ doesn’t apply here.

When comparing to similar courses out there, I feel like I should have paid more, to be completely honest. There are some characters in this space who seem to be in it solely to make money, and I can confidently say that Darren is not one of these people. He created this course to spread knowledge and help others, and it shows.

Another great part of the course is the group you will connect with and have the opportunity to share personal accounts and perspectives with. I had an ‘experience’ in 2021, and since then my priorities and worldview have completely shifted. I have a lot of interest and passion when it comes to the ‘anomalous’ or the ‘woo’ or whatever you prefer to call it, but I often found it challenging to engage in discussions with my ‘normal’ acquaintances (friends/family) on these topics. This eventually led to some feelings of isolation, and was a sort of impediment to further learning and growth for me. Connecting with Darren and a group of like-minded individuals has been absolutely fantastic in that regard, and I am very happy I decided to take the course.

I will likely return and take the same course again. It’s very dense with content, and is a course you can easily learn new things from with multiple iterations.
